Hello! We are KIM+PHIL. Behind the Food Carts is a personal project born out of our love for food. We frequent food carts and trucks often and wanted to tell stories not just on the amazing dishes people are producing from these mobile kitchens, but the passionate people behind the scenes who make it happen. Our blog started in 2011 in Portland, OR and we are now located in the Bay Area of California featuring San Francisco, San Jose, and Los Angeles food carts and trucks. We have over 200,000 followers on Tumblr and won Saveur Magazine’s Best Culinary Travel Blog in 2013. The BTFC team is completed by our writer Terri Phillips.
We are currently working on a nationwide food truck cookbook with Page Street Publishing (distributed by MacMillan) due to be released for the 2014 holiday season. We recently completed a cross-country road trip that was funded on Kickstarter to take pics for our book.
